Douglas A. Rohn, DVM
Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons

Dr. Doug Rohn has practiced soft tissue, orthopedic and neurologic surgery since 1997. He established the surgery service at VetCare Emergency and Specialty Care Center in California when it opened in 1997. He then founded Bay Area Veterinary Specialists in 1998, a large multidisciplinary specialty and emergency hospital in the San Francisco Bay Area. He was the Medical Director at Bay Area Veterinary Specialists from its inception through 2009. More recently, he has worked as a staff surgeon at Veterinary Emergency + Referral Center of Hawaii in Honolulu and Gallatin Veterinary Hospital in Bozeman, MT. Dr. Rohn has learned over the years that a team approach and 24-hour care provide the best patient outcomes, and he is very excited to join this level of care and bring his expertise to the pets of southern Arizona. In addition to providing the best surgical experience for each patient, Dr. Rohn's goal is to ensure that every patient's family is a fully informed partner in the management of their pet's illness. Dr. Rohn is the author of numerous scientific papers and book chapters, is a frequent lecturer on small animal surgical topics, and has consulted for biotechnology companies. When not working, Dr. Rohn enjoys adventurous outdoor activities such as rock and ice climbing and fly fishing.
