Do dogs and cats have blood types?
Yes, dog and cats, just like human, have blood types: However, we can only use animals with universal blood types in our donor program. Pets receiving a universal blood type are less likely to react to the blood. Unfortunately, pets with universal blood types are uncommon. A small sample of your pet’s blood is all that is required to determine if your pet is a universal donor.
